**Q: Is the ink water based?**
A: Yes it is waterbased. It is my go-to pen for detail on painting rocks and such. I love this pen. I bought several of them in all the sizes it comes in. MY FAVORITE!!!!!  You can do a light coat of spray clear over it also and it wont bleed like sharpie pens do when you clear over them. If you know anybody that paints rocks this is a MUST have!!!!!

**Q: Can these pens be refilled?**
A: No, they cannot be refilled.

**Q: Will this pen give me fine upstroke and thicker downstrokes to mimic a calligraphy font when writing in small size lettering?**
A: Yes, it will. It may be difficult for extremely small lettering, but the flexible point does allow you to mimic calligraphy.

Was a little worried at first with storing them sideways. Didn't have any issues. Great set for trying out japanese brush pens, would recommend moving to a heavy refillable as soon as you get the hang of it. The weight on these are pretty light, and with this style of pen it's better for your hand speed to have something with some weight.
