The first thing I did was water the plant making sure the soil was saturated. Filling the birds is literally the hardest part of the whole process, I wish there was a funnel. I wrapped a piece of paper towl around the end of the tube with a rubber band and pushed the globes into the soil so that the tube was straight up in the air. You do this to make it harder for air to flow into the tube. In my picture you can see that after a week the water level has gone down but not drained the bird. I’m really happy with my purchase - I solved my annoying watering problem, the birds are cute to look at, and it’s easy to tell when to refill them.
