Review: Decent cord, low cost - The cord is decent quality and all seems good. Be ideal if the plastic matched the cord but at this price that isn’t happening- but for wht it is it is ideal for my needs. UK plug sockets have switches so the cord switch is a bit redundant depending on use- and it has IKEA smart bulb in it so it’s never turned off by a switch, might just cut it off and move plug down a bit. The grey colour is nice and matched my decor well and is perfect for the job I needed it for.
Review: Looks good. - Bought this to hang over my sink as the Architect for my building has clearly never done the dishes (cooking, put shopping away, or lived in anything fancier than a cave). As I couldn't afford an electrician to get better placed ceiling lights this was the only alternative for my tiny kitchen. It looks great and works as expected, I got a funcy lightbulb so it looks all chic and everything. It's good quality, doesn't look or feel cheap, the braided cable is nice, great choice of colours as well. Would buy again.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Can i fit a lampshade?**
A: This can fit lampshades, Most get stuck removing the top section after a 1/3 turn. If you look inside get a pen ( non metal object) and press down on the golden tab stopping it from turning and it should come right off easily.

**Q: Where is the switch located? At what Distance on the 2m one**
A: They seem to put the switch in the middle, regardless of cable length. Not what I wanted, as I was making a table lamp and wanted the switch closer to the lamp holder

**Q: Can the plug be removed so i can run the wire through a hole in the wall then connect it to the plug again ?**
A: Mine did not have a moulded plug so this was entirely possible. Or if yours does, fit another plug.
The switch does not come apart easily as there are no screws or visible fixings, so you will only be able to thread the flex as far as the switch. The switch on mine was exactly halfway up the flex.

**Q: Is this pat tested**
A: Pat testing is not a requirement if new products and is not legally required at all it's generally just a insurance issue.  It is considered safe to have a new product in use for the year or so before it's picked up by your companies normal portable appliance testing visit.  Just make sure the cable has no exposed wires or and the plug and the bulb holder are not cracked or damaged and it will be safe.  Also have a look at the government guidelines document on portable appliance testing it's easily findable through Google.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Lovely for walls perhaps, but not ceilings

This is really nice and beautifully made, but my problem with it was that I bought the four metre cable size, and the on/off switch was bang in the middle, which for me, was not going to work, as I'd planned to run it across the ceiling, and hang a shade from it, and this meant that I couldn't access the switch, which would be on the ceiling, so it was useless for me. I contacted the seller, who couldn't have been more lovely and understanding, immediately apologised and issued a full refund, then said he'd talk to the manufacturer, so I still don't know if this was an error, or if it just wasn't what I expected. Seller implied that it was an error, but I'm wary about ordering another one, as I feel it'll probably the same.
