The B402 does not have a decreased flow rate. It has A, B and C qualifications. What this means is simple. For the majority of folks who in the panic and reaction to a fire in their homes do not have the seconds to process the type of fire they deal with this is the unit that makes such a decision moot. An A-B-C unit covers all your bases as it were. I am a son of an over 40 year firefighter who left the ranks as a retired commissioner. He concurs with my evaluation. That's good enough for me, hopefully you will follow suit for your families safety. One more item of note and an important one. Some of our wonderful new items utilize plastic components to save weight and also ease the manufacturing costs, weight and end consumer price. Wonderful for many products, not wonderful for an extinguisher. YOU want METAL, especially in the handle. There is NO comparison in this.
