I looked at Tuff Sheds, I liked the door lock they have, but it is proprietary to them, and I didn't see anything else comparable from other shed builders or manufactures.This is the next best thing, with the added convenience of not needing a key. It has a nice locking latch that opens from inside the shed as well, and you can open and close the door like a regular door. The original keyed lock on my shed you had to either leave in the open position, which if it's windy the door would blow open, and I could technically latch it from the inside, but it was not easy to do and not convenient to do so.Installation was also easy, as I have a wooden shed, I did have to add a wood spacer to line up the 2 brackets on my double doors, other than that installation went as smooth as the video instructions show. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5.0 out of 5 stars Worked great for me *by G***Y on Reviewed in the United States on July 19, 2019* There are not many choices for a shed door lock. I wanted a combination door lock and this fit the bill. I did not want a lock with a key, only a combination or keypad - who wants to look for a key when your working outside and need to get into your shed. My other choice of installing an electronic deadbolt with a keypad required two modification kits: one for a thicker door and one for a 5 inch set back - both cost additional and appeared to have a lot of issues working with certain model deadbolts or brands. When I found this Yardlock shedlock, it seems perfect as it requires no batteries and uses just a 4 number combination. The website shows it installed on a two door shed. I only have one door, but it was still easy to install. I just installed the inside door handle/catch (it is just like an inside screen door handle), I shut the door while inside the shed and marked where the catch/strike is on the door jamb. I then chiseled out a channel or hole, like a "D" with the flat side reversed and chiseled it out deep enough for the latch strike to release into the hole. You could also add a strike plate if you want, but I didn't think it was necessary. The door shut perfectly and the latch opened in my chiseled hole - door was secure. I have no handle on my door so no one can pull on it. Simply dial in the combination and the YardLock opens down and pulls back the latch, my door opens with zero effort by just pulling on the outside box. I did have trouble with the wire that wraps around the inside door latch not pulling all the way through the hole. The wire loop has a crimped grommet to secure the wire and it interfered with the mounting plate, not allowing the wire to completely pull through and opening the latch fully. However, I quickly resolved this by making the hole on the mounting plate larger on the right side, I just drilled it out larger. Once I did that, the wire moved completely and freely. After I installed this and used it a few times, I ended up really liking it. It is plenty secure - if you want more security, put a motion alarm inside your shed. Not needing a key, just a combo is fantastic and no batteries. I would buy this again. Also, anyone mulling around your shed won't even know what this box is on the outside, so they would give up trying to get in. This was half the cost of an electronic deadbolt. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ 4.0 out of 5 stars Great convenience. Questionable security if crime is a concern. *by T***N on Reviewed in the United States on April 28, 2022* I love the convenience of this lock. Couple of concerns with it however… First is that the tabs in the body that the lock mechanism lock into do not seem to be very robust. I am concerned as to how well this lock will resist a prying attack with a screwdriver or similar item. The other issue is with the sliding cover that protects the combination wheels from the weather. The cover slides open fairly easily, but is very difficult to push back up into the closed position. It seems to be somewhat flimsy plastic and binds tightly in the housing. Overall, I think this lock is great if you need to convenience of a combination and your shed is located in an area that has a fairly low crime rate.
