## Description

Do you attach importance to design, especially at the workplace? Then this chiclet keyboard fits the bill. As the name suggests, the CHERRY KC 6000 SLIM has a modern slim design. It is, therefore, particularly flat and compact, making the desk look tidier. The keyboard for PC impresses with its high-quality CHERRY SX scissor mechanism. This technology offers an excellent tactile typing feel with a very short keystroke and a long service life (over 10 million keystrokes per key). Three status LEDs are built directly into the respective keys for CAPS LOCK, NUM and SCROLL. The space-saving computer keyboard also has six additional keys: Windows Lock, Open Browser, Quieter, Louder, Mute and Open Calculator. A built-in metal plate gives this reliable keyboard weight and stability. In combination with the rubber feet, it lies on the table in a non-slip and torsion-resistant manner. Discover this high-quality computer keyboard for lovers of modern design and minimalist aesthetics.

Review: Excellent Keyboard - The keyboard is worth its value, the aesthetic is clean and simple, I also like the finish of the Cherry logo. The keyboard button is firm and smooth, and the resistance is just right, the sound of the keys are very satisfying as well. It might not be noticeable because of how the product is pictured, but the background of the keyboard is red metallic looking which is pretty cool. Just to let you guys be aware, the keyboard is not backlit. The durability seem decent, I have no problems so far. It is a clear upgrade from my previous keyboard, so far so good.
Review: Great PC "chiclet" style keyboard -- very speedy, good construction - I bought this to replace a crummy office keyboard that was feeling gummy. I prefer chiclet-style keyboards, because I find them faster; and, I prefer shallower key travel. This keyboard is super fast; the key travel is limited, which makes for very fast typing. For Mac users familiar with chiclet-style Apple wireless keyboards, it is very comparable in feel to the chiclet Apple Wireless Keyboard (the aluminum one). Whereas, compared to the newer Apple Magic Keyboard (the one that plugs in with a Lightning port), the Cherry KC 6000's key travel is slightly deeper, and it's ever-so-slightly noisier (but not annoyingly so). Compared to came-with-the-computer Dell and HP chiclet style keyboards, it feels much faster—each keypress is more well-defined, and the tactile feedback is much better—and the minimal degree to which it is noisier than those keyboards is far offset by its speed. I've really been quite pleased with the typing experience on this keyboard. I use this keyboard with both my office Windows PC and also my docked MacBook (I remap "Command" to the physical Alt key, and "Option" to the physical Windows key in macOS Settings > Keyboard > Keyboard Shortcuts > Modifier Keys). The biggest, most notable downside to this product is that for people who prefer inclined keyboards, this product lacks built-in feet. It does come with four little rubber feet that you can stick on to create an incline, but it is clearly an afterthought.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: does 'function lock' work with f1 - f12 keys for auxiliary functions?**
A: Function lock works for the Cherry KC 6000 Slim. All keyboards with f1 - f12 keys should have the capability of locking with CTRL + FN.

**Q: Are the backlit? Watching the promotion video, looks like there is some red glow coming out of the edge of the keys? Or is that photoshopped effects?**
A: That video uses cgi to disassemble the keyboard and show internals, and the red they use in the cgi version of the circuit board is a bit brighter than the actual one. The circuit board is red under the keys, but not that bright and definitely not backlit. At least not in this model.

**Q: How do the keys feel when typing?**
A: Very similar to a laptop.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ 90% there for a low profile keyboard with standard buttons.
*by A***O on August 11, 2025*

I wanted a low profile keyboard like a laptop keyboard. This is about 90% there. It is pretty quiet and most of the keys are in the right place. I like that the F keys at the top are not shortcuts so they are easily usable. I don't like that it has a lock button and I accidently hit it once and it locked me out of my computer and I didn't know the password. I also don't like that the 10 key portion shrunk the plus button and moved the minus button down to add a backspace button which I do not need. Also I with it had backlighting.
