I put the Gator up on jack stands, pitched forward, drained the oil, cleaned the affected area with degreaser and applied this product with success. I have an automotive repair and it will get pretty hot. If not, is there an alternate?** A: The pot I repaired had been used several times for baking in an oven with 450 degree or higher temps. It has been used numerous times to boil water for canning (Can you guess it is my favorite pot) and is still going strong. Be careful with cleanup. *by M***T on December 15, 2020* I am 1) impressed with one aspect of this product and 2) annoyed by another. I am a homeowner fixing up my house through painstaking research, trial and error, and more than expected trips to the hardware store. I am impressed that this product, UNLIKE competing ones, provided instructions on how to clean up excess material and get it off your tools. This is crucial information which other products exclude. The answer, printed clearly on this product is: use acetate. So far so good. 2) but here is the annoying part. I had never used acetate before. I didn’t know that it would remove paint nearly instantly from everything it touched. Including the aluminum siding I was trying to patch and a metal table where I set the dripping can. Now, this is not this product’s fault. I’m sure an expert would know what surfaces acetate can touch without damaging. But it would have been extremely nice, however, if the instructions for this product could have mentioned just a sentence more about the solvent used to clean up after it. Something like “be careful and read label, will damage painted surfaces” would have gotten my attention enough to prevent these minor disasters.
