I actually received the 6 1/4" plates with no explanation as to why. As I'm not one to pay $40-$50 for a set of small stoneware plates, another reason I ordered the red - 7 1/2" plates was because they were listed at less than $10 per order of 4, so I got 8 plates for less than $20.00. Everything about my order must have been a glitch - only the 1 size & color were so cheaply priced, and the size turned out to be incorrect. All this being said, I will keep the smaller size as they are perfect as dessert plates. The plates themselves are very solid with a thick, rich, vibrant color and shine.
