Review: Fits a Black Max Generator - Needed a battery for my Blackmax 7000 generator as the old one had died between hurricane seasons. I found this battery after a mishap with ordering a generic replacement with wrong orientation and sized terminals. After measuring the sizes and specs on the old battery and comparing them with this one, I decided to give it a shot. Battery fit just fine, came with all the hardware to bolt on the cables and started up the generator in a snap. I also feel better trusting this name brand for a piece of emergency equipment over the generic stuff. It's a good quality battery at a fantastic price and available quick. Plus, the seller gives more than adequate dimensions and info to determine if it will work for your generator, which is appreciated. One other thing to note if you're trying to verify compatibility is that the terminals are pictured as being vertical on the seller page, [ I I ] but they are actually horizontal [ - - ] and parallel with short side of the battery. Makes more sense so you can fit the bolts and tighten them, but that was a point of concern for me when I bought the battery.

**Q: Will this fit a Generac XG7000E portable generator?**
A: Yes. It is exactly the same size as the battery that came with my XG7000E.

**Q: Does a charger need to be connected directly to the battery's terminals or can you just clip it onto the generator's terminal connection cables?**
A: I use a trickle charger connected directly to the battery terminals while hooked up to my generator. I don't use the plug in charger that came with the generator as this can't be left on indefinitely as a trickle/ smart charger can.

**Q: Are 069449 and 0G9449 the same battery?**
A: They are the same size but both come with different terminals make sure you get the battery with the 1/4 " bolt style vertical terminals for a generac brand generator because some of these batteries have lay down snap connectors and they won't fit a generac generator with bolt style cables, plus get the battery with 12V10aH not 12V9aH. Hope this was helpful.

**Q: Is this the battery for the xp8000e?**
A: We have the XG8000e, so not sure if it is for the xp8000e.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Perfect replacement for a Gernerac GP6500E battery.

This battery is an exact replacement for the Generac GP6500E battery. (I mainly use my generator as stand-by power for my home.) This battery duplicates the capacity and rating, and is the same dimensions as the factory Generac battery, so it fits in the battery area and clamps without requiring any modifications. It has the vertical 1/4" bolt terminals which are on the same side as the original. It came charged, but I did trickle charge it over night before installing it. I made the same mistake as other reviews did by leaving a battery charger charging the original battery long term. Unfortunately, this appears to fry the battery. My Generac came with a charger and a plug on the control panel for it, so I assumed the charger could just be left on to ensure the battery would be fully charged when needed to start the generator. There is a section in the generator instructions saying to not do that, but I missed it. Along with the replacement battery, I purchased a 750mA "Battery Tender Junior" which is a "smart" charger which can be left on the battery. It came with both clamp and ring connectors for the battery terminals; and I used the ring connectors to add the charger rings to the terminals. There is a plug between the terminal connectors and the charger so the generator can still be easily moved and used elsewhere.
