The scale does not appear in focus no matter what angle or position you try to place the magnifier in - the scale is always just out of the picture. But great as a magnifier, it just should not be advertised as something you can measure anything with. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Exactly What I Was Looking For *by J***M on Reviewed in the United States on December 24, 2013* I've had several 7x linen testers like this -- from Edmund Scientific in the past. I eventually lose them, but I love 'um. My last two have been this version from Amazon. The second was because I lost the first. I've been using them for 40 years. I always have one with me.Today, I have cataract implants in both eyes thus making it impossible to see up close. These things make it easy. They automatically set the right distance between lens and object. Greater than 7x is too much magnification for my use. My first one from Amazon was this 11x --  Carson® LED Lighed LinenTest 11.5x Focusing Loupe (LT-10)  -- because I didn't see the 7x.
