I noticed no difference at all after 3 weeks. Spots were still there with absolutely no change in color. Possibly my skin is different than those that have praised this product. I might add that my spots were not heavy pigmentation but rather a light blemish which I feel should have been easier to notice any improvement. I relied on the "Neutrogena" name but was disappointed in the end. **Q: Can this product be used with other acne treatments? I currently use a three step wash, serum, and moisturizer acne treatment.** A: This is not an acne treatment, it's a brightener/dark spot lightener. I have used it after Neutrogena's On The Spot acne treatment with no issues. **Q: how much retinol is in this product?** A: The packaging does not give the strength of retinol. However , the list is given in order of strength, and it is 25th out of 29 ingredients. It is below the preservatives and the fragrance. Must be a VERY small amount. **Q: does it work on colored skin?** A: It doesn't work. Don't waste your money. But there's a catch... *by S***F on December 16, 2017* As someone who's been suffering from acne scars on my face and chest, I'm happy to say that this product does actually work in diminishing and clearing dark spots (specifically acne scars in my case). Unfortunately there is a catch, this product doesn't work very well on older scars and dark spots. I've had scars from razor bumps when I first started shaving as a teenager and this product didn't help at all will lightening or clearing those spots. However, I've had acne scars show up more recently and using the product immediately after the scars appear or start to form, this product has helped with lightening and clearing the scars within a 3 - 6 week time period.
