It picks up motion and you can prioritize recording. The instruction are super straight forward and there are a variety of camera that are compatible with the base. Running the Ethernet cables can be a bit cumbersome but in my experience it’s the best way to ensure connection. I wish you could communicate through the camera, but overall this is a great camera for the price especially if you get the bundle. It almost always goes on sale during holidays and especially Black Friday.
