If you are adding a heater and splicing into the coolant lines near the radiator, you need this to get good heat output. Once the engine is up to operating temperature, this thermostat will keep your water temp around 195 and divert most flow through the heater until temperature rises above 195 and then opens to radiator until under 195.There’s a nice YouTube video describing the function. I can confirm this works great and should be included with many heater kits. ### ⭐ 1.0 out of 5 stars Has to be modified to work right! *by M***R on Reviewed in the United States on November 2, 2017* If you buy it make sure you take the thermostat out and plug the bleed hole! Then drill a much smaller bleed hole. Refer to the hole size in your OEM thermostat to see how small of a hole it should be. Otherwise this is a automotive thermostat with a hole designed for a automotive engine which are 4 6 or 8 cylinder engines that are much larger with much higher flow water pumps. The UTV engines are much smaller with much smaller pumps and most of your hot coolant goes right threw that bleed hole at idle making your heater still take forever to get warm and still cooled off a lot at idle. Go to a smaller bleed hole will make it work properly! I used a pop rivet to plug the bleed hole. Make sure to make the OEM thermostat flow all the time. I cut it apart but left the part i need to seal the housing. Don't bother trying to get a hold of the company!
