Made sure the surface was clean and free of dust and it seems to have stuck well. There's a bit of movement when you extend it but this is kind of helpful if you are holding it as I have fat fingers (big hands!). Feels comfortable enough there's no padding but no sharp edges or corners. It's practical and for hands free it's pretty useful if you get a bracket / cradle holder for the air vents in your car. There's a bit of wobble if you try and type but this may be a more down to the holder you get and you shouldn't be typing whilst you're driving so...
