Review: So far ...so good! - I bought this power washer after seeing my neighbor use his to power wash his stucco and sidewalk. The washer arrived quickly and in good condition. The assembly was straight forward if you read the instructions. Everything about this power washer looks to be high quality and well built. The main reason for buying a power washer was so cleaning my deck would be a little more effective than just scrubbing and using a garden hose. I will tackle that project soon, but just to test out the AR Blue pressure washer, I washed my cement sidewalk. I first mixed up some Dollar Store OxyClean and used a bucket and scrub brush to apply. I don't want to use the pressure washer to apply soap. After letting the cleaner do its thing for 10 minutes, I'm ready to use the pressure washer. WARNING: Before applying power to the washer, connect your garden hose, turn on the water all the way, then pull the trigger on the gun. You want to make sure all of the air is out of the system before turning it on. Once you see a nice flow of water coming out of the tip of the gun, THEN apply power to the unit and turn it on. This is something you have to do for all washers, gas and electric to prevent the motor and pump from getting destroyed. I used the adjustable wand and set it for the wide fan. When I pulled the trigger, this puppy roared to life. I keep the tip of the wand at least 6" from the surface of the cement and watched with delight as years of dirt were removed from my white sidewalk. The reason I keep the wand 6" away was because the water pressure at the tip is so great it will remove the top layer of cement. My neighbor let his son do his sidewalk and now instead of seeing a nice finishing layer of cement on top, you can see all of the large pebbles that were in the rough coat. I can't wait to do my deck now. I will use care when using the AR pressure washer on my wooden deck because of the amount of power at the tip. So far, I am loving the results that this pressure washer delivers. Update 8/18/2012 I decided to power wash my back patio a day after having great success washing my sidewalk. I had the surface all scrubbed with the OxyClean and I was ready to power wash the soap off. After turning on the water first, I pulled the trigger and the motor ran, but very little water came out. I tried turning the machine on and off several times. Turning off the water supply, thinking the water pressure was too much for the pump to over come. After 10 minutes of trying to get it to work like it did yesterday, I thought I would have to box it up and send it back to the factory. I then decided to take the garden hose off, then the clear filter adapter that screws into the machine. Inside the filter was grass, lots of grass. I took the clear filter apart and washed it in the sink. I also found lots of grass in the black adapter that screws on to the garden hose. After cleaning them out and putting everything back together, the machine was back to its magnificent self again. Word to the wise. Let your hose run for a minute before connecting to the power washer. I will also clean the filter after every use just in case. The patio looks like new!
Review: Stop looking - this is the PW to buy! - I was very leery of buying any electric pressure washer but hate dealing with gas engines that sit unused for extended periods of time & I knew that I wouldn't be using it all that frequently. After reading all I could about various electric models I ordered this one & couldn't be happier, or more relieved that I made the right choice. My first use was to clean 18 years of mold off 300' of an 8' wooden picket privacy fence using the adjustable spray wand. I ran the washer for hours at a time, which scares me with inexpensive electric motors, but it never appeared to overheat or give me any reason for concern & did a great job. A few days later I cleaned a neighbor's concrete driveway using the high pressure wand. Again, I ran it continuously for a couple of hours & was very happy with the results. I made a complete pass over the entire surface with only water, then for about 20% of the surface with the most stubborn mold, I poured on generic bleach & swished it around with an old broom, then let it sit for a few minutes. The bleach cleaned up the rest of the mold & I just washed the bleach away with the pressure washer. Both of those jobs were a bit slow but not physically taxing for a 60 year old man in decent condition but I wouldn't mind if the high pressure wand was a little longer (I'm 6'-0" tall). Even though cleaning the driveway was pretty easy using the high pressure wand, I ordered the 10" deck/flat surface cleaner for when I clean my own driveway. I also bought a brass double female coupling since I'd read about so many people having leaking issues at the input hose connection. Well, I haven't even taken it out of the package because I have had no leaks other than the minor drips that I'd expect from any hose fittings. My only negative comments about this machine have to do with the tool caddy, the output hose reel & the power plug. I'd guess that a marketing team came up with the tool caddy & hose reel specs. because while they sound like great ideas, the implementation is pretty much useless. The only reason for the tool caddy might be to keep your wands attached to the unit when storing it. The hose reel should probably not be used because it coils the hose too severely & the slot for holding the hose end in place while initially reeling in the hose creates a kink in the hose near the coupling. A reel like this could be OK if the hose was a flexible material but it's pretty stiff & any kink will eventually damage it. My issue with the power plug is that it's huge! It's a GFI-like plug that is physically way oversized, to the point that it makes coiling the cord around the take up "ears" (on the tool caddy) a bit more of an issue than it should be - meaning that you have to wind it in such a way as to end up with the plug supported rather than leave it dangling. I ended up totally removing the hose reel & the tool caddy. So I wind the power cord around the handle, creating a nice little "nest" for the plug & I store the gun, wands & output hose separately. Removing the tool caddy has the additional benefit of eliminating the useless projections at the back of the unit & making it possible to lay it down in storage or if throwing it in a car. In summary, I love this pressure washer & the fact that I find the tool caddy, hose reel & power plug to be poorly implemented doesn't bother me in the least because otherwise it's a great little machine that can handle just about any pressure washing task that a non-commercial user is likely to have. I'm typically overly critical of products so coming from me that's high praise!

## Questions & Answers

**Q: which brass hose connector as replacement**
A: Currently there is a plastic filter that connects to the unit and a plastic connector that goes on to the supply hose. Together they are a quick connect/disconnect pair. Both are supplied and you do not need another piece. However, if one of them were to break, then you will need a brass female - female fitting to connect to the male receptacle on the unit and the male end of the water supply hose.

**Q: What hose comes with this unit the rubber one or braded one**
A: worth mentioning that is a 30ft hose which is 10 feet longer than the 20-25 most others include. This should be more than enough for an SUV or longer cars you want to reach the back of without moving the washer.

**Q: What is the difference between the ar390ss and the ar383?**
A: according to the http://www.arblueclean.com/ site the ar383 has 1900 psi and the ar390ss has 2000 psi. there appear to be some differences in the washer wand as well. check out the web site for more details. i hop this helped.

**Q: Do you have to unwind all the hose to use this powerwasher? Is the reel a functional reel that you can use like a standard hose reel?**
A: You can unwind as much hose as you need, but the hose is stiff and rather uncooperative. Unwind it before you hook up the wand so it can uncoil easily and it works fine. Unhook the wand and stretch the hose out straight before winding it back up.
