It is set to the American, or International Standard way of depicting the date with time. **Q: Strap coming off - how can I return it?** A: The problem that I have had now with two watches is a cracked and broken strap. I was more than satisfied that I can certainly see the time without the need for glasses, the stop watch is easy to use and will be great when out running and the light for nigh time vision works fine. I couldn't really comment on the water resistance aspect as I certainly won't be jumping in any swimming pools with it on.
