Review: Great but used different method - Worked perfectly to strip back heavy cotton cargo shorts from khaki, they ended up a very consistent light beige and after dyed navy blue. I did ask AI for the best method, I did them in a big pan on the stove rather than the method advised on the packaging but that’s not to say following the instructions would have worked just as well. Review: It doesn't make a huge difference - It took about half of the colour out that had run into a cotton sheet. I did everything it stated to do and I used the washing machine. So it's quite good it just doesn't work miracles ## Features - Causes serious eye damage. - Causes skin irritation. - Maven Gifts: Rit Dye Powdered Fabric Dye, Color Remover, 2-Ounce - ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | ASIN | B0161C43RQ | | Best Sellers Rank | 51,553 in Grocery ( See Top 100 in Grocery ) 82 in Fabric Dye | | Brand | Rit | | Brand Name | Rit | | Colour | Color Remover | | Compatible Material | Fabric | | Compatible material | Fabric | | Country Of Origin | USA | | Customer Reviews | 4.1 out of 5 stars 2,475 Reviews | | Item Form | Powder | | Item Weight | 2 Ounces | | Item form | Powder | | Item weight | 2 Ounces | | Manufacturer | Maven Gifts | | Manufacturer Part Number | 43235-15018 | | Model Number | 43235-15018 | | Number of Items | 1 | | Number of Packs | 2 | | Number of items | 1 | | UPC | 635409929333 | ## Product Details - **Brand:** Rit - **Colour:** Color Remover - **Compatible material:** Fabric - **Item form:** Powder - **Item weight:** 2 Ounces ## Images ![Maven Gifts: Rit Dye Powdered Fabric Dye, Color Remover, 2-Ounce - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/91Y+nzzbI0L.jpg) ## Questions & Answers **Q: Will this work on polyester curtains?** A: Works best in natural fibers, not polyester unfortunately **Q: will this work on white converse after they got yellow due to the bleach?** A: no its dye color removal...nothing will change that yellow. bleach is the worst thing to use on fabric for so many reasons yellowing is one. OXYclean soaking is the the best(not on your bleached yellow at this point) for white white also use BlueIt **Q: how much do i use for an entire couch cover?** A: You’d have to use MANY packets ...also call the mfg to see what they say first. Also consider Annie’s Chalk Paint (saw it on YouTube & May prove better 4 you). Best wishes for great success. Hope you give a review of how it goes 4 you. ❤️ **Q: I washed a red and white bathing suit with jeans. How do I get the blue tint off of the white in the swimsuit?** A: This product will remove the blue tint. It was designed to do exactly that. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great but used different method *by D***H on 13 April 2026* Worked perfectly to strip back heavy cotton cargo shorts from khaki, they ended up a very consistent light beige and after dyed navy blue. I did ask AI for the best method, I did them in a big pan on the stove rather than the method advised on the packaging but that’s not to say following the instructions would have worked just as well. ### ⭐⭐⭐ It doesn't make a huge difference *by T***K on 9 August 2026* It took about half of the colour out that had run into a cotton sheet. I did everything it stated to do and I used the washing machine. So it's quite good it just doesn't work miracles ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Can’t say *by V***N on 24 June 2026* Can’t really review this product as it didn’t do what I needed it to do. I accidentally put something coloured in with the whites & of course the colour ran. Perhaps it was the materials that meant it couldn’t work. ## Frequently Bought Together - Pack of 2 Rit Dye Laundry Treatment Color Remover - Rit All-Purpose Liquid Dye, Tan - Rit Back to Black Dye Kit, 5.88 x 5 x 2.38 --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.co.za/products/111786149-maven-gifts-rit-dye-powdered-fabric-dye-color-remover-2](https://www.desertcart.co.za/products/111786149-maven-gifts-rit-dye-powdered-fabric-dye-color-remover-2) --- *Product available on Desertcart South Africa* *Store origin: ZA* *Last updated: 2026-10-15*
