Authored by historian and Freemason Sanford Holst, it offers fresh insights through rare documents and firsthand accounts, tracing the origins from Solomon's Temple to the founding of America. This compelling volume is essential for anyone eager to grasp the hidden forces behind modern society. ## Description This exploration of the remarkable people and influential activities of the Knights Templar and Freemasonry is truly stunning. It sheds considerable new light on how the practices, symbols and rituals of these two brotherhoods took shape and affected the world around them. "Born in Blood" began this work before its author passed away in 1996. Now historian Sanford Holst has gathered many more discoveries and internal documents that give a deeper look into the workings of the Templars and Freemasons. The roots of Masonry are traced to Solomon's Temple, the rise of Christianity, and the Crusades, causing this society's relationships with stonemasons and the Templars to take on new and significant meaning. We come to see how actions by Templars and Masons affected the fall of kings in Europe, the rise of democracy, and the Vatican's loss of its supreme position atop the Christian world. After Masonry emerged into public view in 1717, it had a strong influence on George Washington, Benjamin Franklin and other Masons who worked to create a new country in America. These experiences are often seen through the eyes of people who lived through the actual events -- told in their own words and drawn from remarkable collections of records dating from those times. A tantalizing question is asked: what practices among the Templars and Masons still affect our lives today? This well-documented look inside the secretive Templar and Masonic societies provides answers that may surprise you. Review: Fantastic evidence linking Templars and Freemasons - Excellent book providing great evidence and connections regarding the Templars and inspirations of Freemasonry. Holst does a fantastic job describing Phoenician history and offers a deeper insight into how Freemasonry began. A must read for anyone interested in learning about this "society with secrets" from a more or less objective approach Review: This is the best book about the history of Freemasonry that I have ... - This is the best book about the history of Freemasonry that I have ever read. That is because most books I've seen that delved into the history of Freemasonry have been written by people who were simply Freemasons. This book is written by someone who is both a Freemason and a historian, and it shows in his reasoning and in the depth of detail about the Knights Templar and the times in which they lived that you just can't get from Masonic writers such as Pike and Mackey. They are good, but Holst is more modern and has a more readable writing style than they, along with his wealth of research. Holst makes, to my mind, a very good argument for there to be a connection between the Knights Templar and Freemasonry, and it is consistent with what I already know about linguistics and life in the medieval era. It is also not the typical argument that I've seen. In line with John J Robinson's Born in Blood, this book with high probability wont get a heartfelt endorsement from mainstream Grand Lodges as it traces the connection/origin of Freemasonry to Knights Templar. Most especially, the book will get trashed by anti-Mason liberals and conservatives alike as the author connects the founding of US by personages who happened to be Freemasons--- men who knew the importance of freedom, tolerance and an ideal bigger than themselves. The author/historian presented his research in plain language without masonic terms and lingo that irritate some uninitiated readers. A worthy reading material and source of light---- recommend to all Masons or non Masons. Truth is what we want to believe. --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.co.za/products/11086149-sworn-in-secret-freemasonry-and-the-knights-templar](https://www.desertcart.co.za/products/11086149-sworn-in-secret-freemasonry-and-the-knights-templar) --- *Product available on Desertcart South Africa* *Store origin: ZA* *Last updated: 2026-10-12*
