Review: I'm a coffee snob - Not a ½ latte low fat with a sprig of parsley coffee snob. No... Those people want liquid candy and whatever the hell a smokachino is. What I mean is I love my coffee. That hot cup of steamy wake me up for the day stuff. I started out with a cheaper whole bean coffee. Then my sister-in-law became a manager at Starbucks. For 12 years that saint of a woman got several free bags of Starbucks every week. More than she and my brother could drink. So for 12 years she blessed me with free bags of Starbucks whole bean coffee. She taught me how to grind the beans. What to expect on a light roast vs dark roast. For 12 years I was blessed, awake, and learned my preference was for a dark roast. More flavor. Then tragedy struck. No longer did my sister-in-law work at Starbucks. She went into a different field of work, with better benefits and higher pay. The free coffee ride was over. There were some days I would've gone to my brother's place and given her a piece of my mind, but there was no coffee so I didn't have the "get up" to "go". I mean, I was going to buy Starbucks at my grocery store until I saw the price they were asking. I finally concluded I'd have to "downgrade" my coffee. I was already grumpy and thinking about going back to other coffee made it worse. I hoped my sister-in-law realized just how bad she screwed up. And that she got a nasty paper cut. I was trying different, less costly coffees. Every morning my coffee tasted like lost flavor, heartbreak, and despair. One day at the grocery I saw Seattle's Best on sale. It was a dark roast. Post Alley was the name of the roast. Big bag. Whole bean (and pre ground was also available) and priced to sell. I pondered and grabbed another Seattle's Best dark roast that was also on sale. Sixth Street Bistro. Well, it wasn't Starbucks, but it was priced nice and a squeeze of the bag gave an aroma of bliss. So I took both bags home. Post Alley was pretty damned good. No disappointment was found. In fact, it was really damned good tasting. Before 3 days had passed I suspected I just might have found a coffee I enjoyed better than Starbucks. A visit with my brother a couple days later would seal my fate. I was offered a cup of Starbucks coffee my Sister-in-law made and it was also my favorite Starbucks roast. It was tongue slapping good but ....was that....was that sadness? Yes. I was bummed it wasn't my Seattle's Best. It wasn't as tasty. Then I ran out of Post Alley so I opened that 2nd bag I bought, Sixth Street Bistro. It was a flavor that I preferred over Post Alley. It's been my go to coffee ever since. A flavor so Intoxicating and pleasurable to drink...I've made it my have to have for several years. I highly recommend it. And it's still priced less than Starbucks. In case you were wondering...I still love my Sister-in-Law despite the trauma.
Review: Nice Smooth Taste. - My new Favorite coffee!!! I can never get anything out of medium roast. This got me up and jumping off walls. Great smooth taste when paired with wally world French vanilla. I never had a dark roast. Made a second half pot. One half wasn't enough. Love it.....!
