I had briefly looked into getting an HID lamp, but after seeing all the parts I'd need (ballast, expensive and short-lived bulb, fixtures) and all the wiring involved, I started looking into LEDs. I was thrilled to find a product like this! You just plug it in and go - it even comes with the stuff you need to hang it, all I needed was a little tack to put in the wall.When I first plugged it in, I was struck by how bright it is. You don't want to be staring at this thing. The angle of the light is narrow enough that it won't be shining right at you if you have it facing down though. I planted a bunch of seeds in trays underneath it, and the plants seem to really like the light. They look healthy and are growing pretty quickly, more toward the light than they are toward the window right next to them. My housemates get a kick out of the eerie pink glow coming from my window and under the door to my room.My only "complaint", if you can call it that, is that the fan is a bit noisy if you'll have it in a room where you'll be reading/working/etc... It's not incredibly loud, but I'd say it's about twice as loud as my computer, which is annoying enough that I turn it off if I'm not going to be using it for a few minutes. I'm glad yall enjoyed paying twice the price for fraud, or after looking at the bright light and the noisy fan were you hypnotized? Amazon is simply amazing in the lengths they will go to, to CHEAT YOU RIGHT!I would simply add that if these are indeed 2 watt diodes they would not grow a blade of grass. There is no way to know what amount of light these diodes emit without dismantling your light ,thereby voiding your warranty. There are plenty of great LEDS available, I would suggest looking elsewhere.All of these satisfied customers or either friends and family of seller or the whole review product is a scam,of which I do not believe. I think this is the first item I have ever returned, whether i was happy or not. that is how upset I was with this product and its quality, in addition to its failing.
