Curious if four legged chair in same position for long periods would puncture material.** A: I have a roller chair, so I can't say for sure. I imagine it would work the same as a roller. My roller sits in the same spot most of the time, it hasn't dented the mat yet. **Q: How thick is it???** A: It measures .085" thick but trust me, the thickness doesn't mean much, it's the material that's important. This one is polycarbonate, not vinyl; I knew as soon as I sat down in my chair on it that it will far outlast the vinyl ones because it does not sag or make impressions under the wheels at all, it is extremely rigid. **Q: How long are the prongs? Trying to figure out if this will work on high pile carpet.** A: I am guessing the prongs are about 1/8" of an inch. I have a medium pile carpet (about 1/2", at least that is what we were told when it was purchased). The mat does creep away from the desk and I need to move it back every few days. I also wish I had purchased a mat about 6" wider... The entire front of the mat will no longer lay flat to the floor (see photo). The front of the mat were the tab is located actually curls up 3.5" and no matter what I do I can't get the mat to lay flat to the floor (carpet). It curls up so high that I have actually tripped over it several times. Also even though it has nibs on the bottom of the mat it still slides on the carpet! There is no excuse for this chair mat to have such poor quality at the price I paid for it.
