Review: Made in Sweden! - These are made in Sweden 6500 Big Game reels. They are slightly different than the old US versions, there is a flat on the reel seat. Otherwise it looks to be the same as the discontinued US versions. If you like Abu Garcia 6500 you will like these. I think I have half a dozen 6500s and as long as you take care of them they should last a couple lifetimes. They're nowhere near as heavy duty as newer and smaller Penns that have 2x the drag (15lb vs 30lb plus), but they have their place and cast a mile. Excellent for mono use or braid.

These are made in Sweden 6500 Big Game reels. They are slightly different than the old US versions, there is a flat on the reel seat. Otherwise it looks to be the same as the discontinued US versions. If you like Abu Garcia 6500 you will like these. I think I have half a dozen 6500s and as long as you take care of them they should last a couple lifetimes. Fished with Abu Garcia reels for 40 years. This Big Game version is the best so far. This high quality reel is made in Sweden. So satisfied with the first reels performance I purchased a second. A six block spool brake and carbon drag are included on this model.
