Things to consider: The headboard is 48"high and the platform for the mattress 21"h. And then add an 8-10" mattress. In the photo of this headboard, the platform of the the beds was 15"h **Q: What color is this headboard? It says gray, but looks brown.** A: The headboard color is more on the brown color, just like the image. **Q: Does the headboard need to be attached? I have a Brimnes bed from Ikea and would like to use this headboard.** A: No it does not.
