The product lacks appropriate documentation. Whereas the English version is readable (but incomplete) the translations into other languages are terrible. The provided user guide does not sufficiently explain how to change between the different modes. It says that there are three modes 3 always dimly lit 2 dim with switches to bright in the presence of motion 1 dark with switches to bright in the presence of motion To test the device, cover the solar panel with a piece of paper. Don't do this in bright light. If you press the central lbutton and it blinks, it is already switched on. Press the button a few times until the thing stays dark. I believe, it is off then. To switch it on, hold the button for a few seconds (2 to 8). It enters MODE 1: It blinks three times and enters bright mode. After about 14 seconds it turns dark, but switches on again in the presence of motion (wave your hand over the sensor). Briefly press the button again (less than 1 second). It enters MODE 2: It blinks 2 times, shines brightly but goes dim after 10-15 seconds. In the presence of motion it goes bright again. Briefly press the button again (less than 1 second). It enters MODE 3: It blinks 2? time and shines dimly. No response to motion. Briefly press the button again (less than 1 second).
