They only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because it was advertised to work on 2 D cells, 12 volts, AND 110 volts but it is not equipped to run on 110 volts. I needed it to keep 3 KOI alive in a 17 gallon bucket over night, and then on a 3 hour journey home the next day. I ran it mostly on a 12 volt deep cycle marine battery but some of the time on 2 D cells. I didn't actually need to run it on 110 volts but I was extremely annoyed that it was advertised that way and doesn't do it because I had considered running it on a 12 volt-110 Volt AC inverter. It did it's job admirably for about 18 hours though. I can't comment on battery life because I did not run the D cells down, except that the package says 75 hours. I doubt that.
