Not only does this include all relevant studies but in Chapter 10, Pain and Inflammation, not only are essential oils used in treatment of pain, but the authors also address varied pain components, such as the physiology of pain, the etiology of pain, approaches to pain, varied narcotic and opioid drugs, NSAIDs, Steroid drugs, etc. There is a whole chapter called Essential Oil Toxicity and Contraindications. And this is not the kind of information I have found in many books on Essential Oils. There is enough information in this book for the skilled therapist to really understand all they need to to prepare for a career in this industry. I am a pediatric occupational therapist and have been very interested in utilizing complementary approaches with my clients but never was able to because I just felt there was not enough research out there to back up it.
